Many people start the year with a goal to “recycle more.” It’s a great intention—but effective recycling is less about quantity and more about quality.
What Recycling Actually Requires
For recycling systems to work properly, materials need to be:
- Empty and clean
- Loose (not bagged unless specified)
- Accepted by local guidelines
- Free of food waste
Items like greasy pizza boxes, plastic bags, and disposable cups often cause more harm than good when placed in recycling bins.
Make It Simple
The best recycling resolution is a realistic one. Focus on learning what’s accepted, keeping items clean, and being consistent.
If you’re ever unsure about an item, it’s okay to ask—or leave it out. At C&C Disposal, we’re always here to help guide our community toward better waste practices.
This year, let’s recycle smarter, not harder.
